What challenges did you face before you started to use Demand Calendar?

To have data easily accessible and to understand the data in its context was a challenge before Demand Calendar. Your system makes data accessible and easy to understand. In Demand Calendar we have a tool that collects all data in one system and visualizes data so you instantly can take action.

Another challenge was to have correct data as a basis for your decision making. A concrete example is when you are yielding prices. Demand Calendar gives instant access to all data you need in order to optimize your prices and if you should accept a group for a certain price.

What specific thing do you like most about Demand Calendar?

The interface and visualization of data is fantastic. It’s easy to see patterns and compare different periods. During the pandemic it has been extra helpful. This enables us to have higher rates without losing occupancy and we can increase revenue.

How does Demand Calendar help you in your role as a Owner and General Manager for a small hotel?

It’s easy to use and understand Demand Calendar which is important in my role. In our small hotel I have many areas of responsibility so I can’t get stuck in a system. I need a tool where I can spend minimum time to find and analyze data and at the same time maximize profit. Demand Calendar free up time for other activities.

Demand Calendar is also very useful for reporting which I use for the board members.

Can you remember an "aha moment" that you had when using Demand Calendar?

The potential view in Demand Calendar is very interesting and useful as a basis for commercial strategies with the goal to reach higher market share. The calculation is based on how you perform compared to your competitors and it’s easy to adjust RGI pending on what goals you have. This view clarifies and visualizes which periods you have the highest potential to take money from your competitors.

Demand Calendar simplifies the process to find periods where you can increase your rate. To be successful in your work with revenue you need to have the guts to maximize your price instead of focusing to get 100 % in occupancy. With Demand Calendar you become more confident with your rates. The effect of higher ADR will have a huge impact on your result.
